2009 Strictly Raceway outdoor racing Sundays begins April 26th.

Electric vehicles.
Aprox. 120 by 50 foot sealed asphalt.
Driver's stand.
Full AC power.
On site hobbyshop.

Our local forums: http://www.strictlyrc.net/forum. Read as a guest, sign
up to post.

Rain out Sundays we move the races indoors to the carpet at Underground
RC Racetrack. http://www/undergroundrcracetrack.com

New this year: We are not supplying pit tables and chairs. Please bring
you own.

Race fee is 15 dollars for the first class, and an extra 5 dollars to
race as many classes as you'd like.
Family racing fee 20 dollars for two people.
Sportsman race fee 10 dollars.
Use of house transponders free of charge.

You'll want to pack an extension cord to tie into our power. Also think
about making your own shade.

Plans are for the track to be ready at 10am with racing at Noon.

We'll determine specific classes depending on who shows up. But you can
expect these for now:

Sportsman. Race what you brung. Meant as class for newer racers and
those who haven't raced in a long while. If your skills are way beyond
the pack we reserve the right to ask for you to move to another class.

Vintage Trans Am. We'll follow the power plant rules of the USVTA. Find
the rules here: http://www.usvintagetransam.com

RCGT. New for this year and we expect a nice turnout for this class.
Find the rules here: http://www.hpiracing.com/rcgt/, there's also a nice
local area thread thread beginning here:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/wisconsin-illinois-racing/290274-rcgt.html

Formula One, F1, also new this year. We're wanting to run this with
silver can motors and either a 7.4 lipo or 6 round cells.

Super Stock. Any 4wd drive chassis, rubber tires, 13.5 BL or 19turn
brushed. 6 round cells or 7.4 Lipo

1/10th Scale Open Modified. Race your touring car with any tires, any
power plant, any batteries.

Trophy Truck. We'll figure the rules out as we go for this class. Bring
your Slash, SC10 or other 1/10th scale electric truck and have a blast.

A friend of mine just bought a nitro R/C car. Got anything he might be
interested in?

We're racing electric this year but if he wants to stop on out before we
begin a race day on a Sunday he can run on the track. If he's interested
in racing it we can fill him in on where nitro racing happens near you
guys. We also know where hordes of folks gather late at night on Fridays
to bash and drag. He'd have a fun time and get a bunch of info and might
even get the bug to want to join us. Come with him and check it out too.
Did he get it at Al's or LaGrange hobbyshop?

He actually got it used from a friend. He says the guy messed it up and
he's tuning it and working on it. I forwarded your post to him.

I'm busy on Sundays with track management. I race classes that are low
maintenance so I can attend to the needs of the venue. Other racers who
attend have the time in the pits and can take that guys car, break it
down, tear it apart and pull it back together again in a jiffy. They
enjoy wrenching on other people's stuff. I don't on Sundays.

Stop by and bring the fruit of your loins with you.

just so you know this Sunday is the first of the 25 or so Sunday races.
We'll have some bugs and I might be a little preoccupied but it should
be a great day out. Bring some lawn chairs.

7719 W. Lawrence. On Lawrence between Harlem and Cumberland on the South
side of the street, just past the big public park as you go West.

nah, racing and wrenching for me don't go together and generally the
event is family friendly but you can bring what you like.
