Night before last I came across an article on the web that showed how
to make the T-Maxx brake better.  Mine was really crappy.  Like
stopping a semi (50' to stop).  When I first got my Maxx it would endo
when you applied the brakes.  During break-in it rounded out the disc.
Traxxas sent me a replacement the next day but braking never improved.
This free mod fixed it for good.

Dismantle the braking assembly.  Pull Tranny etc.
Dismantle a old style ball point pen.  We need the spring to put
between the brake calipers.  I stretched the spring a little and cut
about 3-5 turns out of it for each bolt.  I then put these little
springs between the calipers (onthe bolts) to keep them from rubbing
on the disc.  Now you can tighten the bolts holding the calipers in to
a very tight tolerance without your brake dragging.  The new brake is
better than it was when new.  I did not tighten it all the way down so
it wont flip the truck over but I'm sure you could and the brakes dont
rub at all.

Wish I had the URL because whoever did this had pictures which were
somewhat helpful.

This was not the article that I used but it has some tips too.  I also
replaced the stock T-Maxx tubing with the stiffer fuel tubing that it
came with.
