Has anyone tried the rally conversion kit?  I am thinking about getting
it because I want to be able to go on and off road. I'm probally getting
the tc3? I've heard that it has very good handling, is that true?

The TC3 is a very good touring car, and the shaft drive does make it better
suited to light off-roading than a belt drive car would be. I would
recommend running HPI Super Nitro size touring car wheels and their rally
tires because they are noticeably larger in diameter, giving you more ground
clearance. You will have to cut slightly larger fenderwells to clear them,
and adjust your gearing a bit for the larger wheels. Some people have
fabricated lexan shields to keep rocks out of the steering rack.

Just remember to scale your off-road expectations down to match the vehicle
and you should be fine.

(For example, think of the most height and distance that a WRC car jumps-
and don't push past about 1/10th of those levels.... same with the size of
the rocks and ruts you're driving over!)

P.S. on the other hand, I've run my front-drive Tamiya M03 at full speed
through a standard offroad course, jumps and all, with no problems. Of
course it's a lower performance RC vehicle and was built for durability, not
for winning onroad races....
