Well I finally held one in my grubby hands.  The LHS had already sold a few
but had a display model.  The first thing to cross my mind was, can I swap
the tires onto my Maxx?  I liked the option of RTR pull-start or drill-style
start.  There was a nice lightness to hefting the truck, but the consumer in
me was screaming cheez-ay.  Those shocks are gonna' cost the CEO of
Associated major sales/major bucks.  But the aftermarket might pick up the
slack.  I would not run this truck ten feet without a well-mounted body or
roll-cage.  And yeah was that RW+B body a screamer.  I know there are some
people out there breaking these things in--hey!  Whaddya think?

Later!

I dont think this truck is selling very well. My basis is just going by
the lack of posts here and other forums by new owners. Like when the
savage came out there were tons of "I just got a Savege" posts. Still
see them. AE just too late in the game to make a big impact. The thing
that gets me the most is they use Nitro Quake tire molds. Not much
thought went into that choice I guess.

guess we'll see what a softer compound does that tire pattern.  My guess is
not much.

Well the original quake tires are a soft compound, I have them. Then
Duratrax came out with a HARD compound. Ive checked out a MGT a few
times and from the feel the compound is the same as the original quakes.

So what's the performance difference on grass/dirt/asphalt?  The hard quake
tires really suck on all fronts.

Ive not used the hard ones but the lhs has them. Im sure they do suck
being like brick hard. :-) I wouldnt want them.
But with any tire going to a soft compound increases "bite"  and in this
case much softer. Grass I can wheelie in thats even with the torq21 They
are good in mud, loose dirt.
