Does anyone have any for sale?

Or know of a link with instructions for making them?

Thanks,

You mean metal spikes, like ice tires?

I've seen a few mods along those lines. All of them involved shoving
short nails through the tread and securing them with glue or
tape. Never done it myself, though, since I live in Houston.

You might want to check out Hank Haquist's article on custom tire

I did this years ago on a Tamiya Holiday Buggy and it does work very well,
used small self tapper screws.

Use on odd sides of the tyre tread in zig zag pattern for best result.

Give me an hour, by then I will have some photos posted
in the binaries group.

Used 3/8" stainless steel self tapping sheet metal screws.
Predrilled each hole with a 1/16" drill bit first.
Made things a lot easier.
The screws I used have a hex head, gives much  better ice traction
than a pan head screw.

Could you show us the inside of your tires ?

Thanks

Sorry, they are glued to the wheels... of course.
The screws do NOT go all the way through the rubber, if thats what
you want to know.
When I pre-drilled the screw holes I did go through the rubber,
but this just sort of happened, did'nt really do it on purpose.
No big deal though, once you remove the drillbit from the tire the hole
closes up totally.

Hope this helps.

Have you ever lose a screw at full speed ? It can be dangerous i
guess... ;o(

Thanks ;)

Never lost one on the T Maxx.
I did have to snug-up some of them a few times.

I know what you mean about tossing a stud at speed,
I used to race motorcycles on the ice, flat track style.
I used to have one of the face shields from my helmet with the
head of someone elses stud imbedded in the plastic.
We went through a lot of studs on those bikes.
