As some newsgroup regulars may know, I've been a Lancia Stratos freak since
I first saw the Bertone prototype photos in the mid-'70s (I'm 39yrs old,
kinda scary!).

Well, I finally scored! I found an ABC Hobby Lancia Stratos bodyshell on
eBay and ordered it. I just picked it up from the post office yesterday and
went searching for a Tamiya Mini chassis to put under it.

$50 later, I found a M01 that was adult-maintained and in good shape with a
few hopups- also on eBay. I'll have to let my brother run my M03 Mini Cooper
against me in a parking lot after all this is painted and built.

I'm just so damn stoked I can hardly stand it!

The only thing that would make me feel better is finding someone that could
make a mold of the body so that I could have about a dozen more bodyshells
to paint up- some as rally cars and some as the "Stradale" (street) version.

I remember in either 1979 or 80 my brother taking me to see the Rac rally.
Had always liked the Stratos but was the first one I had ever seen in the
'flesh'
Markku Alen (sp?) was the driver and I had a photograph taken with him in a
service area.
To this day the Stratos has to be one of best looking cars EVER made!
I won't bore/make you jealous, with the story of my ride in an Ex works
rally car some years later....he he.
