Hi,

I know you must get these kinds of questions a lot, so I apologize if it
seems repetitive.

What would you guys recommend for a 13 year old that knows very little
about R/C?  He won't be doing any racing - it's just for all-around fun.
A Nitro Evader BX looks like a good deal but would it be better to
start him off on an electric?

Thanks very much,
Chris

yes.

that's the truck, but the buggy would be great too. Throw a Speed Gem 11
turn double into the buggy and it's like a rocket.

Don't forget some NiMH battery packs and a NiMh battery charger.

Kids at 13 will want SPEED after the first few days of goofing around.

be reallistic  a 11 turn is to moch.

Just start with a stock motor and after 6monds or so try a modified but
please no more than a 17.

If the kid can't get it 35 MPH and do some real damage, like chassis
snapping damage, it just isn't as fun for them. If it is too fast he can
always tone it down. A Speed Gems motor is cheap, for the pure speed
factor you can get.
