Air filter for Associated RC10 GT (question)

Hi all,

Does anybody have reccomendations for an air filter for the RC10 GT? I
guess the stock unit works well enough, but it seems there should be a
better way of securing it to the carb. I use a zip tie, but I can pull
it off easily. Any other tips regarding this vehicle would be
appreciated - it's my first nitro r/c car.

Thanks

Mike

I can yank my A-arm off easily too.  If it doesn't fall off in action, then
don't worry about it.  If that's not good enough, try Dynamite or Motor
Saver

Motor saver air filter is the best, but at $15. is kinda pricey. I used 'em on
my racers, and have lost a couple.
What I do now is use the paper element and foam covers (stock from Associated),
and use the Losi part # A-9304 Air Filter Boot.
The stock GT boot is lame, and I hate using those zip ties. They are never
around when ya need one.
The Losi air filter boot is made of thick rubber, presses right on to the carb,
and fits REAL tight.
They recommend a zip tie, but I never use 'em.
I have had MANY catastrophic crashes, and never lost an air filter off of one
my trucks, using the Losi filter boot...W/no zip tie.

I can help you with any problems and make some recommendations from my own
experiences, or send you some links with great info.
This link comes to mind.:

I have been bashin' and racing rc10gt's for several years.
The above (linked)  article is pretty much what I do to every GT I own.
The RPM parts are a "must-have" whether you're racing or not.
Feel free to email me with specific questions or concerns.

Good choice ;-)
Welcome to the group, and welcome to the hobby.
Good Luck.

Thanks a lot... could you please provide a part number for the Losi
filter - I'd like to take a look at it.

Thanks,

Mike

I can lift my RC10GT off the ground by pulling on the air filter.  This is
the stock filter held on by a zip tie.  Did you use pliers to pull it
tight?
