I have a new in box Associated RC500 nitro, chain driven pan car. It
is 1/8 scale. It has all of the white plastic. Does anyone know what
it might be worth?

Cars such as yours arent worth a whole lot in todays market, even
though you may think that they are "collector items". People will pay
you for them, but not nearly what you would expect to get out of it.
These types of cars are cool just to have, and any shop in its right
mind wouldn't give you a fraction of what you originaly paid for it.
Just hang on to it and show your kids how far the industry has come,
and attemp to get it running even!
Just have fun with the hobby, and enjoy a great car. (just dont break
too many parts, for replacements might be hard to find!)
Just my opinion.

In my opinion, just keep it and drive the hell out of it. It is far behind
the times as far as tech goes, but it can be damn fun to drive. I used to
have the RC250, which I believe was the 2wd version of the RC500. I think
it was about $65 from Tower, not including any accessories. I had a blast
with that car, I would wait until Wal-Mart closed and use the lit empty
parking lot as my playground. Full open throttle runs were crazy fast with
an Ofna .21 and tuned pipe. You did not want to get in the cars way at
those speeds, you would almost surely be injured by it. Throw a cheap .21
in it with some cheap radio components, you have a really fun car for really
cheap.
