Air compressor. blow gun and stiff paint or stippling brushes .. but only
when the mud has dried .. When it's wet, we use a garden sprayer with a very
fine mist and a fine jet setting .. hard but gentle at the same time .. ;)
All my electrics take about 2 minutes to remove ... Velcro on speedo and
receiver ... ;)

Can of compressed air, and spray simple green on the bodies to clean
them off.
But why clean them?

i really meant the cleaning of the shock towers and all those hard to
reach places.....and sensetive spots.....exterior of the gear box, all
the sus. linkage...
and don't air compressors just shove the dirt further in?
i'm a bike mechanic and compressors are a no-no for any part that has
any moving parts inside....
also...this is just loose dirt...not mud....
as for the bodies....i'm not too worried about those....

Why would it need cleaning?

even if it was rhetorical....
dirt snugged between two moving parts causes wear. wear leads to slop
and other issues....
i'm big on keeping things clean. i think it's super cool that
everytime a car leaves the pit area in a race they try to make it look
like new...if there's time....not becuase new is good or cleanliness
is next to godliness....but becuase it shows pride in workmanship....
thanks for the tip Tom....

I bought a soft paintbrush that I use to brush the dust away. The
bristles are about 5 cms long.
Works pretty well.
