Hi,
I'm still having trouble starting my ofna .21.
I replaced the fuel, plug and battery for the plug. I now have a starter
box too, which works great, but I'm at the end of my pull string (sorry)
trying to
figure out why this motor isn't even popping.
It has less than 2 hrs. on it this past year since I bought it.
It seems to have good compression and I can see the piston cycle.
When I take off the plug, the piston looks wet and the plug glows red.
Any ideas please?
I'm tempted to buy a replacement motor at this point, if anyone
has suggestions for this also...jay

wet but not soaked, Needle valve on carb needs to be set at about 2 & 1/2
turns for starting...My nephews car runs perfect on this settng. and most
importantly make sure you are using the right type of plug for the fuel you
are using.
I.e. Cool Plug for Nitro fuel and Hot plug for straight fuel........Also
check the little washer on the Glo Plug hasn't become too flattened as this
will affect starting, If necessary replace the washer with a new one.
Good Luck........Regards.......Mark

Hi Mark, this was great advice as I think my problem seems to
be a misadjusted carb and weak battery for the plug.
The later was easy but the carb adjustment may be a can of worms.
I have the instructions but it still is confusing, what with 4 screws.
I'll just tweak the main one and the air slide one.
Thanks again and once I get this figured out I'll repost.

they should be factory set, try the 2.5 turns on the main needle valve and
ensure the glow battery is fully charged, especially at this time of year
and you should be ok. You should be looking for a very bright red to white
glow on the plug element when the battery is connected.
