Hello,
My son received a Nikko truck (9.6v)and he loves it. The problem is
the 4 hour recharge time. Phewwww.
Question, Can someone recommend a good inexpensive truck or kit with
batt's that recharge quicker. We need something that can be beat up a
bit as well. The occasional curb slam.
I have been looking at the Duratrax Evader and the Traxxis Rustler.
They may be a bit too nice though for us.
Also, Is it pheasible to set these up so one can run continuosly? In
other words- 3 battery packs and a supercharger. I'm assuming there
will be some down time no matter what.

Thanks,
Todd

Yeah, we got the Hummer for our 6-year-old for Christmas.
Pretty decent truck for $50, I guess.

I think the problem there becomes heat.  Even if you have enough
battery packs to theoretically charge some while running the others,
there will be a point where the motor and ESC overheat.

I bought the Dynamite Twin Peak charger and two Epic 3000MaH packs.
I can charge two packs in 35 minutes, and each one runs for about
16-18 minutes.  I had hoped that if I bought two more packs, I could
run continuously.  But the more experienced people drew my attention
to the problem of heat.  In addition to motor and ESC, the packs need
to cool after charging or using.

I wonder if (when) I upgrade the motor and ESC this will become less
of a problem?

If you gear the vehicle correctly you can run and run and run until you
wear out the brushes or commutator in the motor, and not have extremely
high heat. No need to upgrade a rebuildable motor or a basic ESC.
