My old Kyosho USA-1's stock speed controller finally burned up.  I
want to replace with an electronic speed control but I don't want to
spend a fortune on something fancy.  I basically want the cheapest ESC
that will work with the truck (including reverse) and will fit in the
cramped space.

Any recommendations on ESC's?

FYI - the radio is an Airtronics XL2P

I may be wrong... but isn't the USA-1 a dual-motor monster truck?

If so, you'll need to move up the price range quite a bit for an ESC that
will work reliably.

I'd try eBay for a used Super Rooster from Novak.

They're currently selling from $50-$75...
