Where do you paint your bodies?  I have to paint a few and I am concerned
about fumes. The weather is still a bit cold. .Any ideas on getting these
bodies done?

I put the body in the lid of the box that a RC10GT-RTR (BIG box...) came in
and then put that in the bathtub. I turn on the exhaust fan in the bathroom
and do one light coat, leave, close the door, wait, repeat........ I haven't
passed out yet.

Of course that's just using a spray can. It would be a bit awkward doing
detail airbrush work that way!

I use the basement. I get the paints and body ready...open the basement
door that exits outside, use a 30 inch box fan blowing out and spray
inside the basement but the over spray and fumes go outside. I work
about 36 inches away from the fan. I also make sure the Furnace or it's
fan isn't running so the stink doesn't go thru the whole house.

When it's cold out I've done two things:

1) I'll leave the body and paint inside between coats.  I put the paint can
in warm water for a few minutes before applying.  Then I step into the
garage, apply a coat, then bring the body back inside while that coat dries.
I've done this a few times and it's worked fine.

2) Basement method: Plenty of posts on this.  The big thing is to not linger
in the fumes too long.  Apply a coat then go upstairs while the basement
ventilates.

I painted this one in the garage during cold weather:

Good luck.
