I'd guess the little key/slot in the slipper clutch plates are not
lined up, and this is holding the spur at a funny angle.
The spur gear can wobble a bit (because it floats on that
spacer/bushing rather than being hard-mounted) but I don't think
that's the issue here.

Soapy water or denatured alcohol should work. If you use nitro clean
or something like that, I'd try it in a hidden, safe part of the pipe
first in case it reacts with the pipe. I've never tried.

i dont got a tuned pipe on my t-maxx (its still the stock one) but i use nitro
blast and it works ok for me. hope that helps a little

The pipe that comes stock on a TRX 2.5 model is a tuned pipe for that
engine (even though it is plastic).
The pipe that came stock on the Trx/Pro .15 was not tuned.
