Okay, I know this has been hashed out every which way but... I am
going to buy a RTR kit (either RC10GT or Rustler) this weekend and I
would love to final confirmation of which one to buy BEFORE I lay down
my 300+ dollars. Simply put, what do you guys think....
Team Associated RC10 GT RTR or Traxxas Rustler RTR?
Let me see say that I have absolutely NO intention to go pro or race.
I just want to take it out a track or dirt field to jump and run the
heck out it. I want it to be low maintenance and very durable. I
prefer gas versus electric.
Also, any suggestions on what spare parts to stock? What parts are
going to go first and what parts can I easily replace to boost
performance? Are the RTR kits even the way to go?
I have never had a REAL RC car so I am heavily relying on the
expertise of you guys.
Thanks for the help!

Either one will be fine for bashing. Go with the one that your local hobby
shop stocks parts for. Both have lots of upgrades available. I have a GT.
I've never regretted it.

I'd say RC10 for racing and Rustler for bashing. Traxxas parts tend
to be more widely availble in general, but if this is not true for
your LHS this may factor into your decision.

Shock shafts, shock towers if you jump alot. Spur gears no matter
what.

Low maintenance and Nitro do not belong in the same sentence. LOL!
Electric is much closer to being low maint..
That being said:
They are both great for bashing. The Traxxas will be faster with the new
2.5 engine. The GT will handle better. The EZ-start makes life easier but
you will need a battery pack and charger. The GT needs a glow igniter.
Make sure you add up all the "must haves" and what they will cost before you
decide.
