Matt- I wouldn't worry about a "battery break-in" on stick packs. For now
I'd set the charge rate at about 4.5 amps and leave the peak detection on
default. That should be fine for both types of packs. Remember, do not use
the discharge function on the 3000 packs. Metal Hydride batteries don't need
it, and it can actually be harmful.

You should notice that your batteries performance will get a bit better
after the first couple of uses. If you want to try something different later
on- increase the charge rate by .5 of an amp on the Metal Hydrides and while
they are charging, touch the stick pack to make sure they aren't
overheating. You will probably be able to eventually charge them at about 6
amps wih no trouble. This will give you a bit more punch but a little less
runtime.

Have fun and don't worry too much about charging rates. If you keep your
Metal Hydrides from getting too hot, you should be fine. The NiCads (1500)
are pretty good to leave at around 4.5 amps and you can set the charger to
do a discharge/charge cycle early on the day you're going to use them- that
tends to freshen them up a bit.
