Hi guys.

I have finally purchased my 1st RC car an Associated B4 buggy. While I'm
waiting for the kit to arrive, I'm trying to decide which ESC would be best
for me at around the US$50-$70 mark. I plan to run the ESC initially on a
Trinity Monster Horsepower Pro stock motor, but could upgrade to something
faster later. I don't think I will need it to run anything faster than a 20
turn motor with this ESC and want a forward only version.

From my research, I have discovered that the two most important
characteristics of an ESC are 1. Its frequency, higher being better. and 2.
It's internal resistance, lower being better. Are there other factors?

After looking at the ESC's that fit my price range I have narrowed it down
to the following two:

Novak Exploer II US$50

Novak Fusion Dual Profile US$70

Do you people think the extra $20 for the fusion is worth it? What are the
advantages of having dual profiles (7.8kHz and 1.0 kHz), wouldn't you want
to run it at 7.8kHz all the time?

I have looked at other ESC's in this price range, but none seam to be as
good as the offerings from Novak. Are there any other ESC in my price range
I should consider? I have looked at Duratec, HiTech, Futaba and the brand
that Associated distribute, but at this price point the Novac seams to be
the winner.

Regards,

Ish
