--I'm building a 12-lb bot for the upcoming RobOlympics. Drive
consists of two 12-v variable speed drill motors. What I need is a motor
controller that will hadle both motors and permit forward/reverse and
variable speed. Can someone suggest brand and model number? Thanx,

Those are probably brushed motors, which means you can use a servo and
resistor based DC power.  I have no idea what kind of amp draw they take,
but you'll need to figure that out if you want to use Electronic Speed
Controls (ESC's).  12 volts is equivalent to 10 RC cells, so make sure the
ESC can handle 10 cells at least.  You'll need one per motor, and you can
use a multi-channel radio and receiver to control them.  Also make sure to
contact the manufacturers after you choose, because they will know things
that would escape the average news poster.
