WHAT EFFECT DOES CHANGING FROM A STOCK MOTOR TO A LOW TURN (HOT MOTOR)
HAVE ON SPUR AND PINION GEAR? I HAVE AN 88T 48P SPUR GEAR AND A 20T
48P PINION GEAR. DO I MAKE THE 20T HIGHER OR LOWER? DO I MAKE THE 88T
LOWER?

(Please stop shouting, it's easier to read if you use mostly lower
case.)

Is it a touring car, buggy, stadium truck or monster truck (or pan
car) - and what make/model?  And what wind is the motor exactly?  If
you let us know, someone should be able to suggest a good starting
ratio.

You will need to change to much 'shorter' gearing for a low-wind
motor, although just how short depends on your vehicle.

In general, you'll want a pinion with /less/ than 20 teeth, and/or a
spur with /more/ than your current 80 teeth.  It's possible though
that the ratio you have at the moment is too short for a stock, and
therefore about right for a modified - but you should probably gear
shorter.

The low turn motor has a lot more power and rpms... you will more then
likely want to switch to a smaller pinion..or a larger spur gear. Which
ones will depend on how the car reacts to the way you drive it.

buy a 22t AND an 18t pinion.  Try them both.
