Hi People,

What do you do with the bit of antenna which is left poking out over the top
of the plastic tube? I know you're not supposed to cut if off .... If I
leave it just floating around in the breeze am I risking it rubbing through
after putting on and off the body so many times over the years?

Spiral wrap it around the outside of the plastic tube and tape the end
down.

You can leave it hanging, or fold it over and tape it down. Or get a
longer antenna tube.

If it's only a couple of inches, let it dangle or loosely tape the end to
the tube. Or get a longer tube.  ;o)

Wrap it around the base of the antenna and leave just enough to get up
through the antenna, or wrap it from the top down.

A very BAD idea, you effectiveley shorten your aeral to the length of wire
between the RX case and the base of the aerial or wherever you cross or coil
the antennae.

what i do is, wrap it evenly down the lengh of the tube and spot it with
CA, just a little to hold it, then go to wallmart or the fish store and
get some silicone airline hose, WD-40 makes it slide on, then cut the
x-tra hose and stick a magick feather in the end and you have an
industructible antenna....trust me, and give credit to me...
I AINT NOT NO UN-DUMMY

"stick a magick feather in the end and you have an industructible antenna"

Put down the CA and slowly step away.. or work in a better ventilated area!
:^P

I'd leave it hanging.  For best radio range the ideal solution would
be to use an antenna tube as long as the wire is.
