If I want to use the same radio in 2 cars with 2 difeerent recievers and 2
sets of matching crystals does the reciever have to be the exact same model
that came with the radio or can it be different as long as the crystals are
the same

Thanks
Dave

Novak makes recievers for all the radios.

If your sysem is a 27MHZ any receiver that is AM 27mhz will work. If
it's 75MHZ use a receiver that matches the hand held radio.

Make sure the receiver and the radio are both AM or both FM. An AM
reciver will not work with a FM handhekd radio.

In theory, AM receivers are generally interchangeable, although this
is not always the case.  Some use funky narrowband setups.

On FM you get have to do more homework and make sure the "shift" is
right.  Pos/Neg shift.  Some TX/RXs can shift both ways.  My hitec
aircraft radio does both shifts.
