Hi,
I have just received the result of some successful bidding:
Hasegawas old Tracker, together with some Superscale decals.
There's an interesting option with the decals for a South Korean
Aircraft and I am looking for some further references for a
R.O.K.-Tracker, especially regarding the color scheme. (includes Dark
blue)
As usual, I have found nearly nothing in the net. If anybody knows
about some good links, please let me know.
Microscale instructions are not that detailed...
Thanks
Ingo

This is all I could find with a quick search.

If anyone following this thread has an extra set of props for the
Hasegawa kit would you please get in touch with me.

Used mine for a set of Yak-11 conversions.

Further investigations are always in order when it comes to
Microscale's 'instructions'...      ;)

Kinda like all those 1/32 F4U-4 decals they used to have for Revell's
F4U-1. :)

Yep.  And T-37 decals for the Hasegawa A-37, etc...
frank - 19 Aug 2005 22:52 GMT
At least Hasegawa made a T-37 tho.

True - especially when they are quite old...but then again: NO 1015
(48 F/A-18) is not that exact either..

Hello Ingo,

Maybe this will help you:

Many photos, including some Korean Trackers.

Cheers,

S2 Trackers that flew from the USS Intrepid CVS-11 until decommissioning in
1974 were painted low vis gray top to bottom, including radomes and the mad
boom.  The FUD variant had a flat black leading edge on the radome, all else
was low vis gray.  There were red markings to beware of props.  Squadron
insignia was left to the devices of the individual squadron, many were very
colorful.
COD (Carrier Onboard Delivery) variants for carrying mail and up to 9
personnel were likewise painted in total in low vis gray.
Box art from HobbyCraft shows a blue S2 but it is not a Navy bird.  The
Hasegawa box art I have shows a late model S2 painted in white.  Again, I
have never seen a US Navy S2 painted in anything except low vis gray.  If
memory serves, light gull gray from Model Master is very close, and is as
close to the real thing when used with a flat white undercoat.

When the Tracker first entered USN service as the S2F-1 it was
Glossy Sea Blue overall.

HobbyCraft also makes a decent 1/72 Grumman S2 Tracker. The kit number is
HC1350.  Last time I checked Megahobby had them available on their site.
That particular kit had an S2 painted out in Blue fuselage with white to
very light gray bottom.  Radome was tan.  It's a nice kit, easy build, good
fit and finish.

Not quite an answer to the question, but Modeldecal had a sheet (don't
remember which sheet), that had some very nice markings for a Dutch
S2F.

It does make up into a nice looking model. That's how I finished mine,
lo those many years ago. Enjoy.
