Hello,
I am looking for detailed models of 1/72 ww2 tanks with plastic tracks. I
hate vinyl/rubber tracks (Academy).
I know that almost all Revell models have plastic tracks but please write if
you have encountered any other 1/72 ww2 tank model with plastic tracks.
Like Tamyia / Italieri etc. - I spent a while looking for the information
and I haven't succeeded. I even asked at the shops but thay write that boxes
are closed and they do not look inside.
So anyone did 1/72 ww2 tank with plastic tracks - please write!

I did Revell Stug IV (medium details), Revell Pz IVH (v good details) and I
am starting Revell Tiger II (v good details).

Many of the ESCI kits, before they entered the "collectable" category,
were being issued with the addition of plastic tracks.

Italieri Ferdinand also has plastic tracks.
Revell T-34/85 also has plastic tracks..

By the way has anyone compared both Revell Tiger I 1/72 models and different
Tiger I?

If I were collecting the same models today I would just buy the
die-cast models that are already finished, painted and have play value
in that they are tough enough to be handled.  They should also lend
themselves to further detailing by using imagination.  One can also
pose them in a diaroma.  In 1/72 scale these diecast models are as
good as any slight above average modeller can build them.

I sure agree with collecting the 1/72 diecast vehicles and I'll add
some of the aircraft as well.

I have a Dragon M1A1 with the ploughs and a Forces of Valor M4A1 with
the huge mine rollers. Both are excellent and there is something about
the heft of a metal model that makes them seem worth the money.

The best vehicles by far, however, are made by Hongwell in China. 1/72
scale diecast cars, mostly modern European and Japanese with absolutly
wonderful exterior detail. They are starting to do American cars
including pickup trucks and have a couple of 1950s pickups out. They
come under other labels such as Cararama and there are scores of them,
all listed in the pages of ESM 72.

Probably the best of the diecast 1/72 scale aircraft is Corgi. They
have a large selection of excellent choices. Their B-24 "Dragon & His
Tail" allowed me to have a model of a specific aircraft that I have
flown to put on the shelf until I eventually build the Academy kit.
There is a nasty seam where the nose is interchangeable with the "D",
but it's a good standoff model. Their B-17 has the same problem, but
they don't do "Nine-O-Nine" yet and I can afford to wait. Their S.61
helicopter is gorgeous.

They certainly do fill up the shelves. :-)

No way - I want to build every tank of my collection myself :)
But thanks for the advice
