After a 20 yr hiatus due to college, Air Force and family, I am finally
getting back into the hobby I grew up with - modelling.  I kick myself every
time I think of the models (finished and unfinished) I let my folks toss
away because they didn't have storage space.  I can still see the 1/24 scale
Camels, Fokkers, B-17's, and the unfinished B-24 and F-16.  Anyway, I'm
finally in a position to enjoy my time with plastic and bought a few models
I couldn't dream of affording back then.  I've got to work through a 1/32
scale Spitfire and a FW-190A8, but I picked up an old Revell 1/32 P-47D
bubbletop.  From what I can tell, it needs a serious sanding to get rid of
the bolts, the landing gear are too long, and the cockpit is sparse.  Since
this was such a cheap model ($10 at Hobby Lobby) I figure I can afford a few
upgrades.  Any suggestions on how to improve this model?  I prefer the
razorback version but haven't come across any so far.  Any help would be
much appreciated!!!

Cheers!

Revell also makes a Razorback. Same errors.
G. Ruthman makes a lot of nice things for these kits.

This guy does some very nice resin and cast metal upgrades for various
kits.
