Does anyone out there remember the comic book GI Combat? I used to have
a bunch of the comics, but have long gone missing, always liked the
tank, all I remember is that it was kind of a modified Stuart.
I remember an article in Scale Modeler (I Think) back in the 70's that
had an article about kitbashing the tank. Anyone happen to remember
anything about the article.
Thanks

They started with a Stewart M3 and for a while had a modified M4 Sherman. I
wondered how they could kill a jagpanzer with only that 37mm. Guess thats
why they got the M4 for a while.Wish now I'd saved those books...

Can't say that I recall that article. But, I do remember LT. Jeb Stuart and
the Haunted Tank. In fact I was going through some old storage boxes of mine
and found a few of the 60s/70s comics of GI Combat, Sgt. Rock and Easy
Company, even one of the Unknown Soldiers.

As I recall, The Haunted Tank was an M5 Stuart, not an M3 (easier to draw--no
rivets). It had the uncanny ability to punch a hole stright through the frontal
armor of a Tiger. Or at least the blue ones...

If anyone is interested, Comic Relief in Berkeley, CA has a stack of the comics
for $3 each, complete with the dark blue german tanks and fighters
