I thought my machine had gone nuts telling me there were 27,000 messages. Bill Banaszak, MFE Sr. Bill, just set up to see have all messages marked as read when you stop reading and leave news, and they'll be significantly more manageable. I was away for a while and got inundated too. They didn't show up on Supernews, but that's still not OK for you guys. That kind of abuse is against many ISP's TOS. Check the headers for the NNTP: Posting Host and fire off a complaint to the idiot's host.
