A while back there was a discussion about an a/c & it was mentioned
that there's a non-US site that has them online. As in for viewing,
page for page, IIRC. I meant to save the site & didn't anyone remember
or help? Thanks.

How do you get to alt.binaries.multimedia.aviation? I can't find
anything with binaries in the Usenet directory listing.

Your news server may not carry the binary groups.

My "From" address is munged - use 'modeleral (at) swbell (dot) net' to respond via email.

Al,

I hate to sound stupid (though I do anyway on a fairly regular basis),
but what's a news server, and how do I find out if it carries those
groups? I was simply trying to find it through Google groups in a
variety of ways and always came up empty. Any alternative suggestions
or links/URLs how to get there?

    See http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/News_server .

>I was simply trying to find it through Google groups...

I don't think Google handles binary newsgroups.  Your 'ISP',
Compuserve, apparently runs a news server that leaves something to be
desired.

You might want to look into a paid service.  Agent Premium News
is inexpensive and features good binary retention:
