Is Ebay Listing Considered Spamming?

If I want to advertise a decal sheet that I'm selling on Ebay, is that
going to piss anyone off?  Is that considered spamming?  I know people
do it, but I don't want to be a jerk if it's considered spamming.

Please, put on your net-cop hat and give me some guidance.  I don't like
to set myself up to be flame bait.  (Not accidentally, anyway).  :)

If its something you think will be of genuine interest to the group members
I don't see any problem with announcing it here.  Of course if it's
non-modelling related then you shouldn't but a decal sheet definately
qualifies.

Out of politeness you usually put "FA" (For Auction) at the start of the
header and include the item number to make it easy to find.

For-sale and for-auction ads of modeling-related stuff is allowed here.

A few people object to seeing auctions here, but they're in the minority,
and their objections are not supported by the group's charter and FAQ.

Just make sure you put "[FA]" or "[eBay]" in the subject line along with a
1-line description of the item(s) being sold.  You can use the body of the
message to give slightly longer descriptions as well as the auction link.

Most of the objections are for dorks that post 20 auctions individually
instead of in one post.

I'd also suggest that you place links to your listings in one post.
Some folks have posted a single link per auction item, and after seeing
multiple consecutive FA posts from the same person is rather annoying.

For example:

FA armor (plane, car, etc.) kits

instead of:

FA Tamiya M4 Sherman
FA Tamiya M1 Abrams
FA Tamiya Tiger I

Not everyone agrees that single link per item posts are annoying.

The one person who does that posts ndividual items in order for us to
open or not. It saves time. An item that is imbedded in a long list is
harder to find and takes more time. An item listed singly can be opened
or ignored with virtually no effort.

What's wrong with simply providing multiple links in one post?
Much more convenient to the reader IMO.

He's killfiled because of it by many. It's extremely annoying to have
20-30 auction posts to scroll through.

While the different views on this are understandable I think the
general issue with individually listing each sale is to discourage
spamming/flooding.

All it takes is one bad apple to see this group as a lucrative market
that accepts sales pitches and suddenly it is a dumping ground overrun
by bots.

I prefer multiple listings per post, and that's what I do. I'm not
annoyed by those who do individual posts though. Regarding bots
over-running this group, that will happen or not, regardless of how we
post our auction alerts etc. Like our last little friend this week who
dumped on us!

Post your stuff!

Just for fun the last time Tom posted a half dozen individual items
instead of a bulk post I timed how long it took to read each header and
go on to other posts. Nine seconds.

That is why I don't understand the complaints, especially the ones who
claim to have killfiled him. For a few seconds you remove a source of
information on unusual kits from your access?

I guess it's just an internet thing.

Absolutely not! In informing us of current auctions (of model-related
stuff) you're doing a public service. I also like to see something in
the subject line to inform us that it's an auction.

In the words of our fearless leader; bring 'em on!
