Blue Angels F-14 & A-7?

ISTR a magazine article some time back that mentioned the F-14 & A-7
were considered by the BA at one time. I was wondering if anyone's ever
seen any drawings of those a/c in BA markings. I vaguely recall a toy
F-14 in WalMart a long time ago that was in BA markings, but never paid
much attention to it. I'm still planning to one day build an F-117 &
paint it BA blue & put BA markings on it, except change them to "Blue
Angles" to pacify those who can't spell!

I've been toying with buying a couple of the Italeri
F-35 kits and doing one in T-birds and the other in
Angels colours.  It'd be kinda freaky to see both
display teams flying the same type of a/c again.

Of course, JUST TO BE DIFFERENT they'd prob-
ably go with the F-22 and the Super Bug in reality.

Hey!  And now with the Esci kits, we can have a
KC-135 support plane in T-bird colours just like an
Angels Herky bird, THAT'd seriously RAWK!

Just my $.02 (US) worth.  :)

I wouldn't be suprise to see the T-Birds jumo to the Raptor.  Given that the
intent of the team is to display capabilities, I am sure some in the old TAC
community who continue to push for the F-22 would love to see it showcased.
This (coupled with the fact that the A-4's days were numbered) led to the
change too the F-18 for the Blue Angels.  Or so ISTR.

Oh, and I would put more money on a T-Bird C-17, but you have a point, that
with the 135 they can be dragged all over the place too.

Not as long as the F-16 is still in service, after which I'd
expect them to go to the F-35.

My point is that as political as the -22 has become, you can expect some to
at least argue for a chance to show off what they can do.  They are allready
putting pictures and representations of the thing on just about EVERYTHING
official in the Air Force.

Yeah the 16 is pretty, and they are amazing, but generals are allready
wanting to cut -35 production to pay for more Raptors.

I agree.  AFAIC, for the Air Force at least, the F-35 is a dog.
Didn't we learn about the no gun thing during the Vietnam war?

I just posted four pics of a 1:48 scale Italieri F-22 Raptor in fictious
colours that I did a few years age for my daughter. She liked the real
T-.Birds, but not having a F-16 and otherwise normally glued to 1:32 scale I
decided that this could do. The decals comes from a lot of different sheets.

It looks like it was a real fun little build!  Must have been a hoot to just
do something for fun again...

No way - they cost too much to operate to take on the road for airshows.
 F-35, maybe...but I doubt you'll ever see a TB F/A-22...

...and as far as the Navy goes...once upon a time when I was working
T-45A, the Goshawk was a contender to replace the F/A-18A in BA livery -
started seeing all sorts of artist's mis-conceptions...once again, it
was all about the bux and logistics.  But it didn't happen.  Yet.
