I know there is a Beatties there, are there any other, smaller, speciality
shops? Let me know, thanks!

Not sure how recently you went there, but Beatties went bust a few years
ago. Replaced, in some cases, by "Model Zone", which majors on die-cast
items.

Back when I used to go there, there were three "proper" model shops:
Beatties, Model Aerodrome and a small independent place, plus Gamleys.
But that was many years back.
Type "Toys & Games" for " Crawley, West Sussex" into www.yell.co.uk for
what's there now.
But if you're into aircraft, the best bet, if you can make it, is to visit
the Gatwick Aviation Society's annual fleamarket at K2 Crawley (wherever
that is, it always used to be at Crawley Leisure Centre) on Sunday 23rd
April:

Usually a good event, I've found many quality bargains there in the past.

I live in Horsham.
The Beatties is no more. There is a Model Zone in County Mall which sells a
reasonable number of plastic kits (for a Shopping Mall) - they often have
some loss leaders which if they happen to be something you are interested in
are fantastic value.
Cheers,
Nigel

I know its not the same but we are small and specialised - especially
in Aircraft and Armour but we are in Suffolk - its worth the call
though 01473 464311. We stock most things from Academy through Classic
Airframes to Special Hobby with some things you can't get elsewhere
such as Montex Vinyl masks. We don't charge for delivery so you could
give us a call.
