Waldron Punches?

It seems I'm behind the eight ball on this but is there anyone/anyplace
that has any of these sets available?  Some retailers tell me they
expect orders to be filled in a couple weeks and others tell me
Waldron's gone and no more are available.
So far, RollModels is out (waiting on a refill), Meteor sold out the
first day they got them, Brookhurst expects a restock...

    Anyone?  Anyone?  Beuller?

Thanks.

Brookhurst sold out already?!

I just ordered punches from them about a month ago. And they are out
again?

I also got another set (yes, I have 2 now :-) ) from
http://www.johnsdiscounthobbies.com/

Yes, Waldron has closed their business.  They actually has a "thank you
for your patronage" ad in the FSM magazine. So, it is official.

I should have bought the punches years ago instead of waiting so long.
But I've  lucked out!

They told me they'd let me know when their next order comes in - that
was about a month ago.  Hey, you have MY punches!  ;-)

I'm holding out hope on this one.  I, too should have gotten a set
years ago...

Hi Folks,

I happened to be looking through January 06 SAMI yesterday & they reviewed
an ideal replacement to be produced by The Small Shop people,
(http://www.thesmallshop.com/index.htm) and is called the'Nutter'.

Unfortunately no price is given & it does not seem to be on their website
yet. Anyway, rather thana machined punch & die set that requires maintenance
of certain tolerance to remain effective, Alasdair of company, has developed
a set of machined brass tips to be used with a unique proprietary metallic
sheet which allows modellers to punch without worrying about precise angles
or chipping die set.

There a pictures of the results & it certainly looks to work very well. If
anyone wants I'd be happy to e-mail an attached photo of the article (remove
'nospam') & you can try getting in touch with them directly for more info.

Cheers,
Stephen.

Its possible that I can source some here in the UK but at UK prices
and shipping they work out very expensive.

Apparently Waldron punches have become very difficult to obtain, and it does
not look like it is going to get any easier, based on my experience. (I too
have struck out on all attempts to buy a set.)
Question:  Does anyone know of an alternative to Waldron?
Thanks,
Bruce

FineScale had an article on punches in thier April '98 issue...wich I
happen to have on hand...

They mention Historex, Presision Brand, Reheat, and Waldron.  Historex
and/or Reheat are probably your best second choice, though both are very
hard to find in the USA...I'd REALLY like a set of the Historex hex
punches, but can't find a distributor.

I would try Aero-Club and Hannant's before giving up.

Fortunately, I bought a set of Waldron punches years ago...it's the
Historex ones that are about imposible to find.  Looks like you have to
get them direct from Historex Agents.  And you better be flush in the
wallet...

No joy...:(  The only place I've been able to find on the web that even
lists them in Historex Agents, UK.  Very pricey, when you consider
Pounds Sterling against the Dollar...and they only stock the hex and
rivet punches...I seem to think they also do some other shapes.
