guess what's happening in Daytona...BIKE WEEK!  So at least Ill get a tease.

Been getting my Vette out in the meantime.  Really needed the cobwebs
blown out - don't think I'd moved it for a year.  Running well now.

Laughlin's in April...I have a long standing tradition of not going.
Though I am thinking of going to Stateline sometime around then.  If I'm
not on travel.  My life is about to get seriously interrupted by work.
For the next couple years...

I'll have to set one aside.  Between travel and the band, my weekends
are pretty booked.

My bass player just had to have his gallbladder removed, so we'll be off
for a bit.  But I'll be in Fla.

Yeah - I put a zipper in mine last year.  The guy did a fantastic
job...but now the liner one's shot.  I love that jacket...hate to think
I'll have to get a new one for the cold snaps.

nah, as long as the leather is intact, you can retore
forever. you can even bring it back.
my 50's greaser leather was dry and on the verge of
disintegration when i remembered my grandpa's cure;
neatsfoot oil. a good rubdown in and out and it was like the
day i stold it.
liners can be replaced....oil that leather and keep it
forever.
it even restored the case for my old uher tape recorder.

Yup...the jacket's fine.  Just need a new zipper in the liner.  Don't
know why they use plastic zippers for the liners.  There's small enough
metal ones out there.

Yeah, dammit...I had a really nice Schott's Bros flight jacket that I'd
had since about '75.  Made the mistake of leaving it at home too long
and ma trashed it...

The rest of my older cow parts are all formal - I have a two-piece
Italian cut leather suit.  And top coat.  And...

yeah, i got some dead cows in the trunk. as well as the 50's
greaser jacket, 60's leather pants, 70's punker jacket, 80's
new wave leather and post 90's f.ck you leather.
after about 85, liner zips went plastic....much cheaper.

The one I REALLY regret misplacing is an old Levi's denim jacket.  It
was my mother's during the '50s, and I wore it all through high school,
with my uncle's WWII Army brass pinned all over it.  It only had one
pocket and silver buttons...just different enough to know it wasn't
modern.  Still have all the brass, but I can't recall for the life of me
what happened to that jacket.
