I just tested how long it takes to pass up Tom's FA posts. Results:Four
seconds.
Are you guys really strapped for so much time that four seconds is that
important, or is it a control issue? I really don't understand the
uptight attitude concerning on topic informative posts. I can see it
when some moron posts (or cross posts) a stupid rant over and over or
the post hole who crammed RMS with crap a couple of months back, but to
get one's panties all in a wad over an individual's personal method of
posting seems to be a bit anal.
Tom (the other one who appreciates Tom's informative posts).

All I said to him was it would be more considerate to place all of his FA
into one ad vice many ads. His response was condescending and abrasive. He
asked for it.
Nevertheless, I solved it by simply plonking him. I dumped the plonk file
recently in the hopes that some of the more annoying people in it had grown
up. Such is the triumph of hope over experience. Disappointed again.

BTW, Tom. Who did the research for the BE2c? I have one was looking it over
the other day. The skids on one of the landing gear is missing, don't know
if it was short shot, lost before I got it or after. Doesn't matter though,
the (tiny) bit of reference I have says the C didn't have the skids but the
earlier birds did. This is according to the Squadron book which I only
looked at briefly as I'm not ready to do that one yet. You guys really did
some interesting models, I think the knock they get is unfair. They look as
good as any limited run kit. Little flashy but no worse than some Airfix
kits I have.

The BE.2C was researched before I came on board, so I don't know who
did the research.
John contacted me before the first kits were announced. I named the
company and provided hundreds of hours of assistance in packaging
design, art work research, instruction sheet design, decal research
and the like. His phone bill must have been astounding.
Unfortunately, John had a serious problem with reality. He got irate
when someone else came out with one of "his" projects. Instead of
concentrating on producing the best possible kit he ran around plotting
add-on items, padding the catalog, starting a "club" where members were
the only ones allowed to purchase certain kits, screwing around with
multi-media kits like the Caproni Ca.3 and the like. By the time he
managed to getthe SPAD and the other later WWI kits out he had already
ruined his reputation, destroyed his marriage and his health and
essentially ruining all of the work that several people had put into
the effort. He died owing me and a few others a good deal of money. His
widow had to endure sheer hell disposing of the tons of stuff that he
had hidden from her over the years.
All a very sad experience. The few really good Meikraft kits and all of
the poor ones have been superceded by kits of far better quality with
few exceptions.
I am far more pleased with the kits that we produce under the MAI
label. Our new Beech Super King Air 200 is a great experience. It would
be nice if MAI and ESM 72 made money, but as a hobby it's not too
expensive and it's a lot of fun.
