I am building the Italeri Crusader AA OOTB. Can anyone suggest:

- What are the most obvious problems to be fixed that can be fixed
easily.

- What color do you suggest? I don't really want to mess with my
airbrush right now, so something in a spray would be great.

Thanks,
Jim

The kit actually looks pretty good, and the changes to the hull are
actually noted in the kit instructions. Eduard is releasing a photoetch
detail set this month, if you want to go that route. The color would be
so-called British Olive Drab, officially known as SCC 15, and sometimes
called khaki drab. It was formulated to be close enough to US No. 9
Olive Drab that the British would not have to repaint American
equipment provided through Lend Lease. It's a medium olive color, but
there isn't a precise match available through the major manufacturers
out of the bottle (Humbrol makes a Khaki Drab, but it's a rather bright
green and must be toned down a bit). Reportedly, the old Pactra
Artillery Olive was a pretty good match, but that paint line is no
longer made. One of the smaller makers like Compucolor or White Ensign
may offer it. Otherwise, the MAFVA website has a Humbrol color mix
posted on their website at

Never seen that brand on this side of the pond. It may be intended to
represent the vehicle color SCC15. However, the term Khaki Drab was
also used to describe the color of British woolen battledress uniforms
introduced in 1905 and worn in temperate climates (as opposed to Khaki
Drill, which referred to the warmer tan or pale gray color worn in
tropical or desert climes). If the paint is a drab green color, it's
probably the vehicle paint. If it's a mid-brown, possibly with a touch
of green, it's the fabric color.
