Has anyone made one of these? How about any other modern
equipment for airfields like refuellers, jeeps, trucks?

I have the R-M set and I know about the ERTL set.

Plus Model is coming out with a cargo Humvee. I'm not sure
if it's out yet. There are some pictures of it here:

Accurate Armour has announced some airfield vehicles in 1/48 but
they are all WWII vintage:

These guys have some (pricey) British stuff. Mostly white metal:

We have the 1/48 Plus Model kit M998 Cargo Humvee in stock. It is a
resin kit with 55 resin parts, photoetched metal sheet and laser
carved wooden parts. It costs £30.60 (about $57 - sorry but the dollar
is quite weak against the pound at the moment). Some consolation is
that we can ship it worldwide FREE!!!!

I am posting an image at alt.binaries.models.scale

We take Paypal as well as most credit cards.

Actually, its not bad for a resin kit. In GBP we currently have a CMR
Westland Wapiti 1930's biplane at £24.95 and a Blackburn Bucanneer in
1/72 at £58.

Recently, I obtained a CMR MunitionsSchlepper for a Karl Morser gun.
This is a full resin kit in 1/35th scale. It retails at £81 in the UK!
That's $152. Mind you the dollar has moved from 1.70 to 1.88 in the
last year or so which is a lot of the cost rise but resin in itself is
an expensive way to go.

No I am just looking for some modern airfield type stuff
for some "generic" airfield diorama displays so I can swap planes
in and out as the mood hits.

I suppose at some point it could involve a C-130
I think I have 3 now...
