I need a color for a good SoCal tan, say for a strawberry blonde bimbette
that spends all her days basking in the sunshine. Whilst we're on that
subject, how about a color combination for strawberry blonde?

Wouldn't that be tan with brown/black spots for the melanoma?

Being a strawberry blonde a bright red burn with peeling is more likely.

Oh I'm not a redhead, I was referring to the figure he's
painting........my wife IS a redhead though with the temper that goes
with it.

She wasn't from SoCal but there was a woman hereabouts who whilst fair
all winter turned the shade of old leather by late summer.
For the hair I'd start with a pale yellow and add some terra cotta
colour. Mix to taste.

I'd just pick up a Playboy magazine and their special pull-out FS color
equivalent chart.... it's foolproof!!

Hey that's right! This month's issue has a photo article on girls of
the O.C. It totally slipped my mind.
Sad when I can remember the John Dean essay and forgot the girls. :(

I think Humbrol makes a "Leather" color paint.

Doesn't Testors make a nice Richard Nixon pale grey?

Do you have a local source for Vallejo paints?
They have about a bazillion colors, and many of them
fall into the "flesh-ish" range. Many other "yellow-ish"
colors as well. Check them out, and figure out which
one caters to your suntan and strawberry blonde needs.
Remember, though, that the actual color is not *that*
important, since after all of the shading and highlighting,
very little of the original color will be left.
