e - 23 Jul 2006 00:58 GMT makes sense to license model stuff. some has potential abuse possibilities by terrorists. like watching the rocket guys. most of them are just eccentric, (did you see the flying port-a-poo?) but the potential is there. you getting rain? we go earhtplittenloudenboomer, but it's a drty hump. i want weather! i'm freakin bored witrh this sun stuff.

The only guys that really still qualify as "model" pilots are the electic power crowd, IMO.
We got hammered a few days ago - cloudy and windy but no precip to speak of...yet. Theres a flash flood watch on, but I just got back from a ride across town to the P.O. and we're still dry.
Had a few fires going from the last round of lightning strikes, though.

Yeah - my '98 has either spit the battery or blown the strter solinoid. I've been wanting to try and jump it, but it's just been too stinkin' hot to stand out there in the sun and do it.
Been riding the '03 back and fourth to work - my Vette spit it's battery too, and I had to charge it to get it started again. I got too many wheels...

San Antonio isn't that far up the road from Kingsville, so it should be much the same.

Just about every place I've lived is cheaper than CA...from a total tax-wise standpoint, anyway. MO is about the same, and MD was the highest.

MO is about the same, and MD was the highest. mo is the same as ca? damn... of course, new england is way over almost everything. gas and utilities are higher here. but taxes are higher there. sales and stae income especially. texas has a lot going for it in the right places. some places i would avoid, like some of the bigger cities. the meth and gang problems are there. housing can be a bitch, too. but it sounds like you have a good idea of what and where.

In the end the cost is about the same as CA, except you don't get the weather for your money.
I agree about the big cities. I wouldn't mind being within striking distance of one, but not in one. Corpus Christi was just about the right size when I was last there. Had everything I needed, and not too much of anything. Good access to health care, a significant airport so you could get to places when you like, nice weather, friendly folks.

Yeah...saw a kid get splattered all over the street once...didn't really affect me. I just plain don't like wearing one.
Seen a couple guys bounce as well...didn't stop me from jumping out of airplanes...took a woman to do that. Then I went back to bikes.
