This is what this group consists of mainly, nothing wrong with
that, modeling goes to all ''4 corners of the circle'' if you will.I
find it diffucult to believe the military section sells the most from
all the other modelling subjects.Well that'a my 2 cents worth of imput
for today,till next time.

It really depends on how you define modeling and military.  If military
means armor and air that covers a broad range of product and it might
seem to dominate.  If you seperate air from armor then I would guess
car models would come into the picture as far as what is most popular.
If you consider "model railroading" to be modeling then there is no
contest.  It wins hands down.  I would bet most of us don't consider
the model railroad hobby as model building per say.  Nothing wrong with
that hobby it's just different than model building.

There are a lot of those people who build structures board-by-board.
Many of the same techniques are used in both domains.  When I was
working in railroads, cars and planes I frequently did something in one
field that encouraged me to try something similar in another.  The 3
branches fed off each other, IMHO.

The thing with model railroading is that it has many levels.  One can
just buy stuff off the shelf and dump it down on a plywood board and get
one's kicks watching the trains run.  One can also scratchbuild
everything if one desires to.  In between are many shades.

I might add that there are other usenet groups that deal with model
railroading.

Trains?  On rec.models.scale?  Occassionally, but hardly
'mainly'.

That's because it doesn't.  Cars are the biggest-selling genre.
