Does anyone know of any 1/48 B/A decals for aircraft other than what they
actually flew? Specifically, I'm looking for some for an F-14. Why, you
ask? Well...I was in Tomcat squadrons, and I think they should have flown
them, so there. I suppose I could cut some myself from yellow decal stock,
but getting them right is a bit(?) beyond my expertise.

ISTR a toy/diecast F-14 in BA markings at my local Wal Mart a few
years ago. It may have been closer to 1/72 tho. I'd think that F-18
decals would be adaptable to the F-14.

A B/A F-14 sounds cool...I believe the only reason the Navy never used
the F-14 airframe for the Blues was operational costs. The last of the
big jets was the F-4 and it was impressive but expensive to fly
especially in the earlier days. During the recession when both teams
gave up the F-4 to transfer to T-38(Thunderbirds) & A-4 (Blue Angels)
was also in line with other NATO countries who flew operational
trainers as part of their flight demostration teams. I was also told
that the AF didn't use the F-15A because it wasn't at 'home' at lower
altitudes. It prefers thinner air at altitudes above 10,000 feet,
which is usually the case for air superiority fighters.

I've seen a couple of F-15 demos and they seemed to handle very well.
OTOH, they were single aircraft, not a flight.
