i finally found 2 of the hawk cabl car kits for cheap money.
what i can't find are decent shots of dummies. mostly the
interior shots.
i suspect that the area where the gripman was would be more
seats. i'd like pics of the style. i believe the hawk cable
car is what's called a california car, that being two open
platforms ends with an enclosed center enetered by sliding
doors. short rides could stay on the platform, (and
sometimes duck fares like we did as kids) or you could enter
and sit.
in shitty weather, inside would be bo city, (people STANK
until the early 60's)and crowded.
any pics anyone knows of?

I think those hawk kits represent the San Francisco Cable cars
including the ones they currently use.  I may have a pic or two of
those if you need them. If you google "San Francisco Cable Car
Interior" and then click on the image tab, there are lots of pictures
there (:>

Looking at the photo entitled: "Clay Street Hill Railroad train
illustrates what open-grip car (dummy) No.8 with trailer No.1 would
have looked like running on Clay Street."
Well sir, Nitto made a 1:60 (IIRC) Horse-drawn Streetcar that looks a
~lot~ like the "trailer No.1"
I have a copy that I was thinking of unloading on eBay. Let me via
e-mail (so I could send you a picture of the box art) know if you're
interested. The kit is somewhat toy-like (pre-colored, with some brass
plating - too shiny) with no figures. The horses need some accurization
as well and the kit needs some detailing (grips, brake levers and brake
lines comr to mind). I repainted my copy, and added most of the things
I could find on line. The copy that I'm selling would need those things
added.
