Does anyone know if Dragon has any plans on marketing their
Magic-Tracks as a separate item? It sure would be good to be able to
get your hands on some, to be used on some of the older Dragon (DML)
kits.

What are Magic Tracks?

Anyway on my wish list is a kit of railway accessories, just a bundle
of 1/35 railway tracks with individual sleepers (I'd probably make
them from wood strips,  some curved sections and some for making
switches.  Also include some railtrack signals, etc. There is already
a locomotive kit.  I haven't seen the flatbed railcar or the other
rolling stock kits for some time.  This will be an excellent way to
display a supply train for a German armored group.

"Magic Tracks" are pre-trimmed single link tank tracks that snap
together (loose fit, though; they still require cement once in place to
stay together) and make the chore of assembling a tank track run MUCH
easier. Older sprue-fixed ones may take from 8-12 hours to cut, trim,
sand smooth, and file to fit before assembly, and take up to three
parts per link for assembly.

These are in one piece and bagged by "handing" where approriate (e.g.
left track, right track) for easy installation.

It would be a good idea, not sure if DML has considered it or not.

I suspect DML would prefer to sell you a "new" kit with Magic Tracks rather
than just let people upgrade their old kits.  More money for them.

Maybe but people that have older kits are going to build or buy them anyway
so they might as well make some money selling tracks for them? Just a guess.

Trumpeter has announced a railroad track set for this year, basically
the tracks from their other rail vehicle kits released separately.
Dragon offered a track kit as well, though with less track (basically
two sections of the track they issued with their armored rail car
kits). No signals, switches or curved sections, though.

The Trumpeter rail set costs £9.99 here in the UK.  The piece is 90cm long.
