If this happened a year ago,I might of went that way,the illustration

valve for tire inflation.

I bought a CH 7 gal. one in WalMart for $20. Works great. It's been a
month and is still holding the pressure.

BTW, the tire valve pictured is to fill the portable tank with a tire
inflater. Opposite of the tire valve is a 1/4" female coupler hole. I
added a pressure valve/gauge, 1/4" quick disconnect and airbrush hose
adapter.
Works great for airbrushing and is quiet.

What about a moisture trap?? Ruins one's day when you get a big gob of
water in the middle of a paint job.  :-)

The moisture trap is on the compressor I use to fill the tank. I suppose
I could put one on the portable too, but that would put the length of
the connectors, adapters, gauge, and quick connects to about a foot
long, and I am afraid the tank will tip over. :-)

Try a plastic one.  It adds length, but not much mass.  I picked up a
couple from a body shop supplies store years ago and plumbed them into
my airbrush lines.

Badger makes an air hose with an inline moisture trap.

Should have a moisture trap on the portable tank as well.  Remaining
moisture in the compressed air is condensed as the air is cooled as it goes
from a higher pressure to a lower pressure.  Do a search on Boyle's Law.
CO2 is the way to go.
