I recently bought the Begemot 1/72 Flanker family Pt 1 decal sheet and
obviously am looking to put the decals on some Su 27's

The question is which is the best 1/2 scale kit of the Flanker B and does
anyone know of a conversion kit or article for converting a UB or Su 30 into
the Su 30 MKI-1 ( with the canards ) ?

Thanks in advance for your help

Don't know much about the Su-27 in 1/72nd. I'm not even really sure
what's out there, but if you get to choose between Airfix's kit and
Hasegawa's, pick up the Hasegawa kit. IIRC it looks really nice in the
box and comes with a small etched metal fret for some details. I've got
one in the stash somewhere, but it's deeply buried or I'd give you more
details on it.

Also did a google search on "Haseagwa, Review, Su-27" and came up with
this, hopefully it will be useful:

I must have missed it the first time around.  I had several kits for
1/72nd Su-27s of various marks.  I never got any of them built before
selling them off but I remember Ken Duffey has a page all about the
subject.  IIRC, the Italeri kits came out lacking somewhat and the old
Revell kit was far of the mark.  It was possibly closer to a Flanker-A
than a production aircraft.  I did have one of the later side-by-side
two-seaters (Revell AG, I think) and it looked beautiful in the box.

The situation is sadder in 1/144th as the DML kits scale out to 1/163rd
instead.  Otherwise they seem to be accurate if you accept their odd
scale.

Thanks for the info. Do you or anyone else happen to have a link for that
article or if its from a magazine could someone scan it and then send Me the
article.

Thanks in advance

I had to refer to my hard copy printouts to get this:

http://www.flankerman.fsnet.co.uk/su27surv.htm

That's all I have so I hope that gets you there.
