I use x-acto knives in my HS graphics class to cut stencils. Where can
I buy #1 knives by the dozen and #16 blades? I thought Home Depot but
they had a Stanley for $4. I've been searching Ebay w/o luck.

Thanks, Ron

Micro Mark probably offers them in bulk, as well as Phoenix Models in
Florida. The changed to all wooden ships a few years back and had an
extensive inventory of tools.

Neither one had it.

Check out on line Squadron, Great Planes, or Micro Mark.  Our your local
drafting supply shop.  Great Planes sells them in boxes of 100 and any good
hobby shop should carry them too.

Also check out Model Expo.  They recently had a very good deal on a
pack of 100 #11 blades.

Does anyone know if this knife on ebay will take a regular x-acto
blade?

Is anyone familiar with this knife? Can a regular x-acto blade be
used?

Those look like a disposable version.

Looks to me like a regular #11 blade, but it does not look like it is
replaceable. These look like your average disposable razor to me.

Ask the seller.

As for your original question, bulk blades are readily availble in
packs of 100 blades (#11) but I don't think you will find bulk or
discounted handles anywhere. Best you can probalby do there is to see
if you can by a quantity at wholesale cost from a kindly shop (try
craft stores and woodworking shops as well as hobby shops. Big Box
stores like Home Depot and Lowes are probably not your better
choices).

while flimsy and not hard to break, the dollar store 3
handle, 11 blade packs are excellent blades. break a handle,
throw it away. (slavage that aluminum!)
they are $1.49 here now, but still worth it.

In my neighborhood Dollar Store as well as at Canadian Tire dollar
bargain bin is a boxed kit of 10 assorted Xacto type blades complete
with three aluminium handles (bladed) with the twist screw collet but
only so-so plastic collet jaws.   Whatever, for a buck its a great
buy.

Just the other day, I received a bulk pack of 500 X-Acto-brand, bulk-in-box
#11 blades from a local drafting supplies dealer.  Can't go wrong with one
of them.
