Same thing here, nasty error message.  "Someone's" advice is recommended, go to
alt.binaries.models.scale and post there, in jpeg format - some of us old farts are still reluctant or
reticent to use yEnc - something to do about learning new things in our old age.

gogu is a buffy from the coin group, so he can figure stuff
out pretty well. i know we can also help if he needs.
i've seen what he collects for coins, if his kits are half
as good, we're in for a treat.

Thanks for your kind words pal but thanks to long-sightedness (I found the
term in the dictionary, is it correct?!) I have stop building kits since
2000:-(
What I have photographed are kits made before that date...
And that's the reason I asked you if there is a market for my unmade kits, I
am not sure yet if I want to sell them but I am seriously thinking about
that...
Now I am going to investigate the URL problem and I'll let you know as soon
as I find what the problem is...

:-)
Kind difficult for a couple a reasons my friend, one of them being that I am
quite "proud" and don't want to wear spectacles:-(
Until I am convinced that this is not a big sin I am afraid I'll stick with
coins...
But slowly I'll take pictures of more of my build kits and probably I'll put
them in a separate site, dedicated only to static modelism...
Another reason is that I am building a new house (it will probably be ready
late next year...) and I have most of my things already packed, so no so
much free space in the house I live right now...
Oh well, there is time for modelism, I am not that old:-)

you dummy.
1. you could get contact lens
2. lasick eye surgery
3. just wear glasses when you build.
(you're not a dummy, but come on!)
darn right you're not old. the new house sounds exciting.
wish i had even and old house.

Tried it and didn't work:-(
I can support them!

I am not sure if it's feasible for short-sight deficiency...

Well, that would be a solution, just I don't want to "face" it;-)

Hmmm...born in 1962, 44-45 years old...
Not so young though;-)

:-)
It is exciting but it sure costs an arm and a leg...
The good thing is that I am in the business so I can build it at the cost.

PS
I have added some more tanks in that page;-)
I'll take pictures of my kits daily and will put them on-line.

That makes us two at least in this group.

Find a CD with Creedence Clearwater Revival,
and listen to the song: Someday never comes.

Or live like this:
Live your life, like this day was the very last,
but never in a way, that you have to fear tomorrow.

Btw. the kids says I'm ooollllldddddd  ;-)

It would be refreshing to know that younger ages still love plastic

Yeah, that was my first remark...
It's a pity that every year smaller and smaller numbers of young people
are entering the hobby...

I'm 37 (but younger at heart). I haven't really modeled for about 3
years now, with work pressure, wanting to start a family, trying to
start a business, etc. I plan to have a better-paying job by next year
so that I get more space to actually enjoy building. 2 room place with
a fiancee is not ideal, especially when starting a business... bloody
computers take up *way* too much time and effort! :-)

Have you tried a stand mounted magnifier? Hands off, no glasses
needed. Also an X-Acto hands free device which uses articulated arms
with roach clips (I don't know what they're really called) on the
ends. That's more for us old timers (sixty today) with slightly less
than steady hands.

Bill, it's a Yahoo! site so I wonder if they know this incompatibility issue
with Netscape...
Have you tried again *after* I fixed the URLs?...

Sure but I was talking about the incompatibility he says his browser has
with certain sites!
He said that he tried *after* I fixed the problem and still no luck...

But it's really strange that Netscape is behaving this way, I'd expect to
be more compatible after all these years...

Well, I am using the..."good" old I.E and I am OK with it, despite all that
nasty things we hear about it!
I am behind a hardware firewall, using a software firewall plus AV,
anti-spyware, etc so for an average user like me I think I am OK.
Once I installed Firefox (or it was Firebird, can't remember exactly...)
just to test it but it was a disaster!
Pages not opening, sloooow response, a couple of times it freeze my
computer, so I returned to my trusty I.E and feel happy again:-)

Hmmm...I really don't remember which one was, sorry:-(
But at that time I read in some specialized magazines here that more users
faced similar problems with it, so it's possible that my ISP has some
bizarre settings as you say that affect more users and not only me...
Another time I remember I tried to run a program of Steganos (is this German
company
known in the US?...), it was a program about surfing anonymously and I had
similar effects like with that browser until one time I saw a pop up window
from the application saying that my ISP was not allowing this or that
because of its settings (of the ISP...) so the program could not run
properly bla bla bla.
This makes your guess about my ISP's settings much more possible!

i have not heard of steganos. i think it is an open proxy

I think it is because it is 4.7.  My son keeps warning me that it's out
of 'certification', whatever that is.  I like it, it works well for me,
except when things like this pop up.

Netscape is at version 8 now. I have Firefox installed, but I prefer the
Netscape 8 UI. Besides, Netscape is based on Firefox. You're missing
tabbed browsing and a lot of good stuff.

a lot of people stayed at 4.7, it's kind of revered as the
last "stable" version. those that do seem to hate the
versions after becuase it is not as easy to set up and some
features can be difficult to figure out.
i have customers vehement about updating.

I do have Firefox but I access the newsgroups through 4.7.  I do all of
my browsing with Firefox but occasionally run into a site that only
wants IE.  Well, tough for them.

Ah, the Canada Mint, that's another painful story;-)
I was collecting various Canadian issues but in the last 2-3 years they are
issuing coins at machinegun speed, can't collect everything!
So now I am limited to their annual silver proof dollars and that's all!

There were two 9 coin Canadian series of $20 coins where 3 coins were
issued every year: one with a ship, another with a car and a third with a
train.
First series was with older cars/ships/trains, second series was with modern
ones.
I have only the first series and of course I lack -as usually- the first and
more expensive coin, the Bluenose ship;-)

For airplanes now there were another two Canadian "Aviation" series of 10
coins each (again $20) which I am glad to say I have complete;-)
Unfortunately I never scanned the coins to put them on display on
Internet...

I gave you a reference on rcc, Sheldon E. is a remarkable guy, he will help
you a lot!
I forgot to mention Kyle, the other Canadian dealer who also posts on rcc,
he is a nice guy, too.
I am sure that one of the two will help you finding what you want!
Next days I'll try and take a picture of the Aviation collection also the 3
train coins from the other collection and will let you know.

Yes, but as I said I have half, no, less, about 25% of my kits in the house
I
live now and the rest in the deposit of my summer house which is full of
stuff...
Maybe I'll try listing some of those I like less later this year, we will
see...

Sure I can ware glasses but I am still not accustomed with the idea:-)
It takes time to take such decisions, I am sure that sooner or later I'll
make the big step;-)

> email me a list of the kits you want to sell. ebay is an
> option, too. u.s. ebay for models.

OK but let's do it correctly, that is after summer when I'll be able to make
a precise list of what I would like to sell...
The kits I have in my house right now are those I like most (F-4, F-14,
Sukhoi, etc, BIIIIG kits!) and I'd never sell, so I have to go through the
kits I have in another place, decide what I'd like to sell (probably some
Hasegawa kits of WW2 airplanes in 1:48...), take pictures of them and let
you and others know.

That's strange!
I click on them and they open, each one of them!
Try this general page and then click on the relevant files:

PS
They are many files to post them all on a.b.m.s...

PS2
Please bear in mind, some of the models are heavy files if you have not

Oh, come on, I know my limitations:-)
I can assemble a model and give it a so and so painting, what I never
managedto do is to make a jet or a tank look "old"!
I never did a proper wash, never managed to "spoil" with mud the tracks of a
tank or
make an armor look warn...
So almost all of my models look like they just came out of the factory, they
lack the depth of a properly treated model; some times you can't distinguish
the lines on a jet's wing, it looks so flat without a wash...
Oh well, maybe if I'll start building again I'll try these techniques...

That was my major concern, I don't like making people with slower
connections curse me:-)
I know that the files are large but I had already treated them in Photoshop
as such
because I wanted to keep them for other purposes, so when I decided to put
them on-line I should do another time the job and I was a bit lazy, so I put
them as they were.
I promise next time to make the job correct.
