I'm going to McMinneville, Oregon next month and wanted to get hobby
shop recommendations for stores in McMinneville and Portland and the
area in between the two.
And yes, I'm planning to see the Spruce Goose.
Thanks in advance,
Martin

Can't help you with the hobby shops, but while there go on down to
Tillamook and take a look at the air museum there. Go to the Blue
Heron, drink a little wine, eat a little cheese.

Probably the two best are Bridgeport Hobbies and Games in Portland on NE
Sandy and Tammie's on SW Canyon Road in Beaverton.
Both have a pretty good plastic model selection - Bridgeport throws in
diecast cars and figures (and some unfortunate dungeons and dragons
stuff) while Tammie's adds model railroad stuff and flying models.
Add the Tillamook Air Museum if your travels take you any where close to
that portion of the Oregon coast. Not quite the equal of the Evergreen
Museum in McMinnville but quite good none the less.
Cheers,
