Does it seem to you that EVERY plane you ever thought you'd have to
scratchbuild or convert is now availiable in at least two scales?

When a model of the first British jet fighter design - the Bristol W69
"bl.wj.b"- is available in even 1/72 scale, then we'll be
satiated...excuse me...satisfied. ;-)

It's geometric. Special Hobby comes out with a Fairey Albacore, so the
little guys have to dig even deeper into the past to make something
different, like the Martynside Buzzard, which gets kitted and
reviewed, interesting color schemes arise, they start showing up in MM
or Hscale, and Speical Hobby decides there's a demand and makes it in
1/48, and so on . ..

I was going to invent the Hawker Hoopoe as a unlikely aircraft name, but
unfortunately Hawker did indeed make a Hoopoe:

The Hawker Woodcock and Tomtit are fairly odd names also:

This would make for one oddball model:

well I recently bought the Hasa 1/48 Airacobra with the sexy nose art,
finally getting away from the old Monogram kit. So after spending $30
or so on that one, out pops the 1/32 version which I have been hoping
for for years.
you know guys, we just ain't gonna win this battle..
