are air classics and air combat both dead? i have a buttload from the 70's and
they were decent.

Air Classics is still going strong. They have become mostly a warbirds
magazine, but they also have a good selection of articles of
historical interest as well. They also publish Warbirds International,
which is, as the name suggests, strictly warbrds coverage.

Have not seen Air Combat for years. The last issue that I have is Vol.
24, #5.
