He was a very nice gentleman.  I attended that "infamous"
CAF airshow in 1976, where Col. Tibbets was at the controls
of the B-29.  I got to greet him and shake his hand earlier
in the day.

Too late for him to hear but thank you sir for what you did.  It was an
awful thing that had to be done and because of it, I and many others my
age are here.  My father didn't have to join an Allied invasion of the
home islands and possibly not come back.
